What we do

Healing Hearts and Hands (H3) commenced in 2009 with our first mission trip to Bordwiase an orphanage located in a small village near the capital of Accra. Structured in 2013, H3 became a US 501(c) (3) non-profit organization under the auspices of Acquaye Dental.

We partner with individuals, businesses and corporations to provide free dental care and dental education to mostly children in Dallas County – Texas and Accra Ghana. H3 also assists in the provision of medical assistance and school supplies along with clean water and sanitation practices specifically in Ghana in partnering with the Rotary Club of Dallas, Texas and other Humanitarian Organizations.

Why we do

According to the Vice President of the Ghana Dental Association, there are approximately a total of 300 dentists serving 26 million plus population. The dental schools graduate about 25 dentists per year. The majority of these dentists are located in the two big cities (Accra and Kumasi), due to these shortfalls we doing our best to extend oral health care to as many as we can reach.

Future plans

Short Term – Mobile Dental Van and Passenger Van: Acquiring a Mobile Dental Van will help facilitate our mission work. This will aid us in performing a wide range of general dentistry procedures (deep cleaning, fillings, & stainless steel crowns) in addition to removal of decayed teeth which has been our prime focus till date.

Transportation cost is about 60% of the total expenditure team H3 incurs every time clinic is executed, due to this obtaining a van will benefit in transporting the team at a far cheaper cost.

Long-term: Build a dental clinic to further examine and address the needs of those who we could not treat in the field.
